Bosna'da Osmanlı Dönemi Selatin Camileri [selatinin Mosques Belonging To Ottoman Period İn Bosnia]
Döküman Önizlemesi
In architectural sense, Bosnia-Herzegovina has been analyzed in various studies. While studying past works on thesis, I have realized distinctive and particular studies on vaulted mosques with wooden minaret. Until today, there haven't been a seperate study about Selatin Mosques constructed in Ottoman period in Bosnia. Between 1992-1995, we have witnessed a violent wartime when most of mosques as well as other historic buildings have been destroyed. Therefore, a making up an inventoy is needed to see what we have now in terms of mosques, particularly Selatin. That's why I attempted to study Selatin Mosques of Ottoman period in Bosnia. Meanwhile, I tried to give some brief information regarding the cities where those mosques are located in, by using resources from Bosnian and Turkish. The thirty-five mosques exposed to my investigation, are located in thirty-one cities. In order to study all of them, I had to travel all over Bosnia. During my travel, some of these mosques was being re-constructed and so, I was supposed to visit them once again or more. However, due to time and budget constraints, it haven't been possible to re-visit some of them. Similarly, I was occasionaly unable to study and take photo while visiting the mosques. Sometimes, the weather conditions was making it quite dangerous to walk around a ruined mosque; or sometimes it was vitally risky to study a mosque where some old mines and similar war devices were found within the wreckage. Despite all unfavourable conditions, no mosque was left out of the investigation. According to uncertain sources, Selatin mosques were found in Kluc, Glamoc, Srebrenica, Mrkonic Grad, Bosanski Ptrovac. However, as I couldn't reach the real information, it was impossible to make a seperate study for mosques in above-mentioned five cities. The essence of my study is the current conditions of these mosques by considering their historical course. The selatin mosques, constructed in Ottoman period, had very tough times later on. Because the mosques had no any income, they had some serious financial crisis. Bosnian muslims tried to do their best in order to keep these historical buildings, including restoration of mosques. The mosques belonging to different periods, reflects the fashion of their era. Only fourteen of thirty-five has survived until today. During the wartime between 1992-1995, five mosques have seen minimal damage. Some of these mosques have been faced with ruin a couple of times. For instance, Sultan Ahmet Mosque in Kulenvakif has collapsed five times and then restored again. I could barely find some information regarding the mosques which do not exist today or collapsed in the past. I tried to give information about the mosques standing still or recently collapsed. I have taken more than 1000 photos regarding the plan and marbles. By examining those photos with my teacher, Prof. Muhittin Serin, some of them were added to our thesis.
