Tarih boyunca kentler, endüstri toplumunda oldugu gibi endüstri öncesi toplumlarda da, her zaman toplumun en devingen ögesi olmus, toplum yasantısında belirgin etkiler ve izler bırakmıstır. Yerlesim alanları, geçmisten günümüze kadar belli bir tarihsel birikim sonucu olusmustur. Kentlerin biçimlenmesinde, gelisiminde ve yasanabilirliginde tarihsel olaylar, geçmis yasantılar, ekolojik, ekonomik, bireysel, toplumsal ve estetik ögeler büyük pay almıstır. Kendine özgü ekolojik karakteristigi olan alanların tüm peyzaj özelliklerinin ve tarihsel süreçlerle nasıl gelisim gösterdiginin ortaya konulması yerlesim alanları ve ekolojileri açısından çok önemlidir. Bu çalısmada, peyzajın tarihte geçirdigi süreç, gelisimler, degisiklikler stanbul li Beykoz lçesi örneginde irdelenmis ve degerlendirilmistir. Tez kapsamında Beykoz lçesi’nin peyzajını olusturan ögeler ve tarihsel gelisimleri kentsel ve kırsal olmak üzere iki asamada irdelenmis ve degerlendirilmistir. Kentsel peyzaj yapısı ve tarihsel gelisimleri tarihi yerlesmeler, tarihi iskeleler, kasırlar, kaleler, kuleler, mezarlıklar, hamamlar, balıkçı barınagı, liman, marina, tabiat parkı, korular, mesire alanları ve kırsal peyzaj yapısı ve tarihsel gelisimlerinde de deniz peyzajı ve stanbul Bogaz akıntılarının peyzaj üzerine etkisi, tarımsal peyzaj, orman peyzajı ve Bogaz peyzajı irdelenmistir. During history cities have always been community’s the most mobile element before industry community, it has been produced determined effects and tracks at the community life, like being industry community. Inhabitting areas have been formed in result of a particular historical accumilation since the past. Historical events, past lives, ecological, economical, individual, social and aesthetical events have taken a wide part in shaping of cities. It is important in terms of the inhabitting areas and their ecological surroundings to manifest all landscape specifications of the areas having a self peculiar ecological characteristic and their historical development. In this study, the course landscape has been through, history, developments and changes have been studied and commented in the example of stanbul province’s Beykoz county. All the landscape charasteristics of Beykoz county (the elements of landscape; relief, silhoutte, plant), physical and social structure (geographical location, inhabitting and administrative division, natural structure) and social - cultural structure have been manifested and solution suggestions have been put forward in the county’s usage - protection balance to ensure its continuity.
